JOE LU, CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD
Joe Lu has extensive experience in the Canadian financial industry. Over the last 20 years, he has worked in a number of large Canadian financial institutions ranging from Banking, Insurance to Pension Fund management. Joe has strong quantitative skills as well as in-depth understanding of risk management practices and system developments. He was Vice President Treasury Credit at the BMO Financial Group and has managed the development of several important risk models and systems. As the Vice President of Canadian Chinese Finance Association, Joe is deeply involved in the collaboration of financial institutions between Canada and China. Joe received a Master of Mathematical Finance degree from University of Waterloo and also a Master of Economics degree and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Simon Fraser University. Joe has the FRM designation from the Global Association of Risk Professionals and is teaching MBA courses at the Schulich School of Business.
David Lau, CEO
David Lau has held various positions at Bay Street and Wall Street firms with most recent role as Vice President at BlackRock. As a senior member of the portfolio management team that oversaw a $25 billion USD hedge fund portfolio, David was responsible for portfolio and risk management for various hedge fund strategies. David is a co-founder of QuanTTran Investments, a Venture capital operation that invests in innovative food science technologies. David has a Master of Finance degree from Illinois Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Illinois.
Sean Ying, CFO
Working for the family business at an early age, Sean Ying has extensive experience in business operations. Sean was later trained as an Electrical Engineer and has worked in various industry firms in both China and Canada. Sean is a co-founder of QuanTTran Investments, a Venture capital operation that invests in innovative food science technologies. Sean has a Master of Electrical Engineering degree from University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Toronto.
